Slackers

November 19, 2007

Ben and I are going to be terrible parents.  I base this on the fact that we can’t even take our dog to 8 weeks of obedience classes because we are too bored when we are there.  We think it is far too difficult to manage our schedules to make it on time and we think our dog is the best and he is too good for the lessons he is learning.  We don’t find it necessary for him to sit, lay down, sit, stand, lay down, sit, stand in that sequence for him to be a good dog.  Actually, he can do this and you can just see his little mind twisting in circles because he can’t figure out why we won’t just give him the treat (like we would any other time).

Ben and I generally end up making fun of either ourselves, other dogs, other owners, or the instructors the whole time which is definitely not setting a good example for Charlie.  We also tend not to pay attention and have to stumble to figure out what we are suppose to do.  Charlie also never does his “homework” because we are far too lazy.  Good thing he is a genius and can still do whatever they tell him to do…he gets used as an example frequently.

Oh well, we are good owners and Charlie is a wonderful dog.  Plus, we have much better things to do with our time on Monday nights…like watch the Hills.  Will Heidi and Lauren ever make up…I just don’t know!  Who else thinks Whitney is kind of a dumbass?

So much for valedogtorian.  Sorry Charlie.
